Begoro students donate to Alma Mater

Begoro, April 10, GNA - The Students' Representative Council (SRC) of the Begoro Presbyterian Secondary School has donated a set of public address systems costing 3.6 million cedis to the school to facilitate educational and entertainment programmes.

The items included six loud speakers, one amplifier, one microphone and a cord.

Presenting them to the school authorities on Friday to mark the "SRC Week" celebration at Begoro, Mr David Odjidja, the SRC Co-ordinator, said the items formed part of the contributions of the students to develop the school.

Mr Odjidja said the SRC provided a number of items at the cost of 7.6 million cedis last year to develop the school.

He mentioned them as an electronic school signboard, 16 ceiling fans, garden chairs and dustbins.

He commended the Headmaster, Mr Ebenezer Charway and staff for committing themselves to the activities of the SRC.

Mar Odjidja said the Council planned to adopt stringent strategies to instil discipline in students to enhance academic performance. He said the Council would construct a visitors' lounge next year.

The Assistant Headmaster of the school, Mr Henry Ohene-Darko, who received the items on behalf of the school, expressed his gratitude to the students for the gesture.

He, however, deplored students' indiscipline in the school and hoped the activities marking the SRC week would awaken student's conscience to reform and achieve academic excellence.
