Bediako family installs new head

Tema, Dec. 17, GNA - The Bediako Family of Apollonia, a suburb of Kpone near Tema in the Greater Accra Region on Wednesday, installed Nii Tettey Mansro as the new Family Head. He takes over from ageing Alhaji Tettey Kwao, believed to be more than 90 years.

The installation followed a meeting between the heads of the three ruling clans which is made up of Kodjo We, Sanshie-Sackey We and Bediako We. Nii Mansro, who is known in private life as Mr Iddrisu Tettey Mansro, expressed joy for the confidence reposed in him and expressed his preparedness to unite the family and the people of Apollonia-Kpone. He said he would make sure that all lands at Apollonia are registered to avoid encroachment.

Nii Mansro said he would ensure that the lands are used for residential, industrial and farming purposes and called on investors to come and invest in the area. "The town is accessible for development and interested persons who want to invest must see the principal elders of the three ruling clans," he said. Nii Mansro also advised the youth in the area to stop sand winning, which he said was impeding the development of the area.
