Barclays bank renovates Agona Asafo SDA JHS classroom

Agona Asafo (C/R), Nov 22, GNA - The Agona Swedru

branch of Barclays Bank Ghana limited, has renovated a

dilapidated classroom of the Agona Asafo Seventh-Day Adventist

(SDA) Junior High School (JHS). The bank spent 600 Ghana Cedis and its staff joined students

and teachers of the school to offer communal labour to ensure the

early completion of the project. Mr Charles Adomako, Acting Manager of the bank, who

announced this at the inauguration of the facility at Agona Asafo,

said that the financial institution painted the Agona Swedru

Divisional Police Headquarters last year. Mr Ransford Arhin, Headmaster of the JHS, commended the

bank for its contribution to the development of education in the

area, and appealed to individuals and organisations to assist the

school with logistics and infrastructure. He called on the Agona East District Assembly to construct a

bridge over a stream on a road leading to the school, saying that

recently, a downpour washed away the foot bridge on the stream,

preventing children from attending school for four days. Mr Arhin praised Nana Apim Darko, Assistance Headmaster,

for soliciting assistance from the bank for the school.
