Tamale, Nov. 1, GNA - The Prestige Centre of the Tamale branch of the Barclays Bank on Saturday made a donation of assorted items worth over six hundred Ghana cedis to the Afaani Children's Home in Tamale. Mrs Maria Nantogmah, Caretaker of the Orphanage said there were nine children currently in the home with the eldest being about nine years old and the youngest who are triplets being two months old. She said abandoned children in the orphanage were often adopted by people after the necessary procedures were undertaken by the Department of Social welfare.

She explained that with the motherless children they were often given out to foster parents when it was realised that their other parents could not take proper care of them.
