Awutu-Effutu-Senya GES assists more children

Awutu-Bawjiase (C/R), Oct. 18, GNA - An official of the Awutu-Effutu-Senya district directorate of the Ghana Education Service (GES) on Monday appealed to philanthropists and NGOs to supplement government efforts in providing assistance to needy but brilliant students in the district.

Distributing school uniforms and learning materials to 30 additional children from basic schools in the district at Awutu-Bawjiase, Miss Gifty Brebu said there were more schools children who dire needed assistance.

The directorate had earlier provided assistance to 50 children in the district under a programme sponsored by the British Overseas Development Agency (ODA).

Miss Brebu said ten schools from Bawjiase, Bontrase Senya and Winneba Circuits benefited from the programme.

She urged the children to learn hard and be punctual at school. Representatives of the children thanked the directorate for showing concern for them and promised to take care of the uniforms and also learn hard.
