Awutu- Bantama Grateful To Government

The chiefs and people of Awutu – Bantama and Bontrase, all in the Central Region have expressed their appreciation to the government for responding favourably to their recent call for the resumption of work on the Awutu – Bantama / Bontrase rural electrification project.

The project on which the state has spent more than ?700 million was virtually abandoned for about three years with the transformer and other vital equipment meant for its implementation left at the mercy of thieves and the weather.

At a meeting with stakeholders of the communities, Mr David Pobee, Assemblyman for the area, on behalf of the inhabitants, expressed their profound gratitude to the government for resuming work on the project.

Mr Pobee was optimistic that the contractor on the project would ensure early completion of the project. He, however, appealed to the government for the provision of 45 more wooden electricity poles to facilities the work.
