Atwima-Nwabiagya gets SMEs development sub-committee

Nkawie (Ashanti), Aug. 26, GNA - A nine-member Micro, Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (MSMEs) Development Sub-Committee, has been inaugurated at Nkawie in the Atwima-Nwabiagya District of Ashanti. The district is the first among the 66 beneficiary districts to be inaugurated under the Rural Enterprises Project (REP) in the country. Mr Thomas Ofori Donkor, District Chief Executive, who inaugurated the sub-committee last Friday, said the selection of the district, was a clear manifestation that it had adhered strictly to the guidelines set out under the REP. He pledged the assembly's readiness to support the sub-committee to deliver its duties. Mr Kwasi Atta-Antwi, National Co-ordinator of the REP, said the district had performed creditably to merit its selection to work on their own and hoped the members of the sub-committee would live up to expectation. The sub-committee, which comprised assembly members and staff of the Business Advisory Centre (BAC), has Mr Ibrahim Mohammed and Mr Benson Adjei, as Chairman and Secretary respectively. 26 Aug. 08
