Atwima-Mpohua recruits 330 youth teachers

Nyinahin, Oct 16, GNA - Mr Isaac Kwame Asiamah, the Member of Parliament for Atwima-Mponua, has said the government would continue to initiate programmes that would help reduce unemployment. He said what the government needed were tolerance, patience and support to enable it translate its dreams into reality.

Mr Asiamah said this at a 2-day orientation workshop for 330 new community assistant teachers under the Youth Employment Programme at Nyinahin.

He said the recruitment of teachers in the district would not only fill vacancies in the classrooms in the district but would also reduce the unemployment in the area.

Mr Asiama advised them to be dedicated, hard working and commit themselves to the promotion of quality education in the district in order to win the respect of the people.

Mrs Diana Appiah, the District Director of Education, advised them to be punctual, hard working and avoid acts that would bring their reputation into disrepute.

Mr Collins Addai, the District Co-ordinator of the Youth Employment programme, appealed to the teachers to put in their best to justify the introduction of the programme.

He said other people would be recruited to take up appointments in sanitation, health and agriculture to reduce unemployment in the district.
