Atlas Copco builds four-unit classroom block to Anyinam Methodist

Obuasi, Jan. 25, GNA - Atlas Copco Ghana Ltd, a worldwide giant in=

industrial productivity solutions provider, has handed-over a four-unit classroom block it constructed to the Obuasi-Anyinam Methodist Kindergart= en School. The Company, noted to have been supporting Ghana's educational sec= tor over the years, presented the block to the school's authorities last Tues= day alongside 100 pieces of dual desks and four cupboards.

Ms Gladys Mante, Atlas Copco's Communication Officer, who official= ly cut the tape to hand-over the block at a brief ceremony at Anyinam, laude= d the healthy collaboration that existed between the community leaders and the company saying "without which the inauguration wouldn't have been possibl= e." The Human Resource Manager of the Company, Ms Susana Manu, who addressed the gathering, noted that education at the early stages of life=

should be of utmost importance to parents, teachers and the community at large. She explained that children at Kindergarten level were at their crucial stage of development, which was why persons and institutions, whi= ch depended on society, should be more interested in children's affairs.

Later in a brief interview with the Ghana News Agency, Ms Manu sai= d Atlas Copco believes education is the best engine for personal developmen= t and that it would continue to sustain its huge investments in the sector to complement Government's efforts. She said the thrust of Atlas Copco's education agenda, is fundamen= tal commitment to help enhance educational infrastructure development and provide resources for effective learning.

"This donation Atlas Copco believes, therefore, is part of its man= y right steps to further enhance teaching and learning in schools in order to train responsible and good future leaders of this country," Ms Manu said. Mr Kofi Mensah, the Public Relations Officer of the Municipal Education Directorate urged the school authorities to demonstrate true commitment and dedication to their work so that the investment made by th= e Company yielded results. Mr Kofi Dwomo-Asubonteng, Obuasi Municipal Coordinating Director, stressed the need for a good culture of maintenance to be upheld in the school. Atlas Copco Ghana is a global giant in the business of selling and servicing construction and mining equipment.
