Asunafo Assembly helps two schools to complete projects

Mim (B/A), Feb. 17, GNA - Mr George Yaw Boakye, Asunafo District Chief Executive, has on behalf of the District Assembly presented a cheque for 24 million cedis to two of the three Senior Secondary Schools (SSS) in the district.

The presentation was in response to an appeal by the schools to the Assembly to assist in the completion of some projects.

The Ahafoman Secondary/Technical School at Goaso received 19 million cedis to purchase an engine for the school's only truck, which is broken down.

Mim Secondary School is to use its share of five million cedis to start the construction of a security fence around the school to control truancy among the students.

Presenting the cheque, the DCE said it was the desire of the government to improve areas in the educational sector that had persistently impeded teaching and learning.

He mentioned accommodation and basic infrastructure as areas where the government had been doing well and would continue to show concern. Receiving the cheque, Mr. Fosu Gyeabour, headmaster of Mim Secondary School thanked the Assembly and pledged that the schools would use the money to enhance the academic output of the schools.
