Assemblyman assists 31 to gain admission to higher institutions

Logre (U/E), April 26, GNA- The Assemblyman for the Zanlerigu-Damolgo Electoral Area in the newly created Talensi-Nabdam District, Mr. Dominic Azure, has supported 31 Junior Secondary School leavers to gain admissions into Senior Secondary and technical schools this academic year.

He said promoting education in his electoral area is paramount, because it has the potential to help development.

Mr. Azuure made this known to the press at Logre, a farming community in the Nabdam constituency whose residents have contributed one million cedis to construct a dugout to enable their animals to have water.

He said he had negotiated for a number of development projects for the area since his election, adding that the projects include the construction of a three-classroom block with office and store for the Logre Primary School and a Day-Care Centre at Gundorg.

He announced plans to initiate a forestation programme as well as income generating activities such as groundnut oil and sheabutter extraction and dawadawa processing for women's groups in the area. The Assemblyman commended the Ghana Cement Company (GHECEM) Limited for providing cement for the construction of the Gundorg Day-Care Centre.
