Mr C. K Ampeh, Assembly Member for Dormabin Electoral Area in the Krachi East Municipality has appealed to government to construct a footbridge over a river between Anyinase and Dormabin in the Municipality.

He said school children and farmers had to risk crossing the river over a log on daily basis, which was endangering their lives.

Mr Ampeh who was speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Dambai said apart from the risk of crossing the river on a log, the over 50 school children also walked so many kilometres to school, a situation he said was discouraging a lot of them from going to school.

He said although some caring parents accompanied their children to cross the river, others left the children to their fate.

Mr Patrick Charty Jilima, Municipal Chief Executive of Krachi East who was also speaking in an interview with the GNA gave the assurance that the Assembly would soon construct a wooden bridge to forestall any casualty.
