Assembly uses spent 360 million cedis projects in Breman Asikuma

Breman Asikuma (C/R), May 19, GNA - Mr Emmanuel Adjei Domson, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa, have disclosed that an amount of 360 million cedis was spent for the improvement of sanitation activities in the District to remove and refill a refuse dump at Apagya near Breman Asikuma.

He said the amount was from the HIPC relief fund and it was on the recommendation of the Assembly's Executive Committee to use it to create a site for construction of a proposed Town Hall and ICT office block complex.

Mr Domson was addressing members of the Assembly at the third ordinary meeting of the Assembly at Breman Asikuma. He added that looking at the current growth of the District, it deemed it necessary to construct a modern Town Hall, with a capacity for 1,000 people with ITC facilities to help enhance learning in the District.

The DCE said the Community Based Rural Development Projects designed by the Village Infrastructure Project had been awarded on contracts in some communities in the District. The DCE urged the Assembly Members and Area Council staff to give the contractors the needed assistance when work begins for successful execution of the projects.
