Madam Beatrice Agbalenyo, the Assembly Member of Dedeiman Electoral Area, has called on all assembly members, government appointees, and unit committee members to join the COVID-19 Educational Team to help fight the disease.

She said the Government alone could not carry the burden of reaching every nook and cranny of the country with the COVID-19 preventive messages and, therefore, called on the assembly members to actively get involve in the awareness creation activities.

Madam Agbalenyo made the call in an interview with the Ghana News Agency after she had toured about 20 communities in her electoral area to educate the people to adhere to the preventive directives on the disease.

She asked them to wash their hands with soap under running water, use alcohol-based hand sanitizer and wear nose masks to avoid contracting the infection while advising them to stay at home if they had nothing important doing in town.

The Assembly Member advised school children to continue to revise their lessons as they remained at home, especially junior high students preparing for their Basic Education Certificate Examination this year.

“The JHS students should take advantage of the internet and lessons on some of the television stations to refresh their memories on the syllabuses so that they would not be found wanting when schools reopen,” she said.

Madam Agbalenyo urged parents and guardians to be watchful of the movement of their children at home and ensure they (children) took their lessons seriously.
