Assembly members urged to avoid partisan politics

All assembly members have been asked to rise above partisan politics and unite towards the development and progress of their localities.

The District Chief Executive for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai, Mr Moses Kofi Armah, who made the appeal, told assembly members that they were obliged to mobilize the people for development.

He was addressing an ordinary meeting of the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Assembly at Bibiani.

Mr Armah said the assembly had undertaken some projects to improve the living condition of the people within the last 15 months with its District Assemblies Common Fund.

These include cladding of pavilions for classrooms at Fahiakobo, renovation of the Bibiani market, establishment of a fire service station at Bibiani, refurbishment of the Sefwi-Bekwai D/A primary school and the Humjibre market.

He said the assembly was building more market stalls at Lineso, constructing a Kindergarten at Mframakrom and providing sanitation facilities at Bibiani old town and Sefwi-Wenchi.

Mr Armah said the assembly was planning to construct a public library at Bibiani and to supply low tension electricity poles to the people of Sefwi-Anhwiaso, Subri, Atonsu, Awaso, Subri-Nkwanta, Gyidi and Dominibo by the end of the year.

He said the assembly would build a new police station at Sefwi-Bekwai and supply computers to schools to promote the teaching of Information Communication Technology.
