Assembly members in the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly in the Ashanti region have threatened to lock up the office of the Mayor Mr. Kojo Bonsu if President Mahama refuses to relieve him of his post.

The aggrieved assembly members have accused the Mayor of an autocratic style of leadership with no regard for the various assemblies.

According to them, Mr. Kojo Bonsu is practicing a system of leadership in which he has refused to engage the assemblies in discharging his duties efficiently.

His actions the aggrieved assembly members posited has affected activities of the various assemblies.

Agyemang Tamakloe who spoke with the aggrieved assembly members said, Mr. Bonsu is abusing his office and to resolve the matter, they want him to resign honourably or he will face their wrath.

Spokesperson for the aggrieved Assembly members, Mr. Opoo Yaw in an interview with Nyankonton Mu Nsem said, Mr. Bonsu has delayed processes in electing presiding officers for the various assemblies.

They have served him a week ultimatum to resolve the issues raised or they will be forced to lock up the offices of the assemblies.
