Assembly members call for the relocation of Apinto council office.

Tarkwa (W/R) Feb. 18 GNA- Members of the Wassa West District Assembly have called for the immediate relocation of the Apinto Area Council office at Awudua.

Mr. Felix Ansah, Mr. Jonas Clifford Damoah, and Mr. Daniel Oscar Kwarteng for Awudua, Kofigyan and Huniso electoral areas respectively, cited the protracted chieftaincy dispute as their main reason for the relocation.

They told the Ghana News Agency at Tarkwa on Thursday that, numerous conflicts as a result of the chieftaincy dispute had polarised the community to the extent that no meaningful development programme could be planned and executed.

"Owing to the dispute that had gone on for many years, the Apinto Area council has not been inaugurated as at now to enable it to perform its functions", they said.

Awudua is the traditional capital of the Apinto Stool division of the Wassa Fiase traditional area.
