Assembly member solicit computers for schools

Nkwabeng (B/A) Jan. 18, GNA - The Nkoranza South District Assembly has been asked to provide computers to Junior High Schools in the area to promote the teaching and learning of Information Communication Technology (ICT).

Mr. Kwame Baffoe-Duah, Assembly Member for Yeboasa, who made the appeal through GNA at Nkwabeng, said the lack of computers would adversely affect the performance of candidates in ICT the Basic Education Certificate Examination. He said: "It would be a surprise for a student who has never seen a computer to be able to answer a question on ICT". Mr. Baffoe-Duah also called on the Ministry of Education, School Management Committees and Parent-Teacher Associations, individuals and non-governmental organizations to mobilize resources to support schools to acquire the facilities.

Major Derek Oduro (rtd), Member of Parliament for Nkoranza North, last year provided 20 computers and accessories to basic schools in the area. 18 Jan 10
