All aspiring NPP MPs have been asked by their party’s flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to show empathy and be compassionate in their endeavours as the party intends to win the presidency in 2016 with a majority in parliament.

This has compelled Dr. Nana Ayew Afriyie, the elected New Patriotic Party Parliamentary Candidate for Effiduase-Asokore constituency in the Ashanti Region to heed to an urgent request by the chiefs and people of Akwamu area in the Ashanti region.

Roads connected to these areas - Daakoho, Mahineso, Aninya, Naama, Akokoaso and Ahinsan of Akwamu in Asokore are all in bad shape making transportation difficult for commuters.

Dr. Nana Ayew Afriyie has, however, commenced construction works on the roads which include a 7.5km Asokore to Ahinsan road, 3km Putrom to Senkyi and 2.5km Effiduase to Ntumkumso road.

According to him, he was driven to reshape the deplorable roads due to the overwhelming support he enjoyed from the people of Effiduase-Asokore during the primaries to elect him.

Speaking to the media, the chief of Maheniso, Nana Kwame Amofa, thanked the aspiring MP for his kind gesture. He said Dr. Ayew Afriyie is the second parliamentary candidate in the constituency to have initiate the reshaping of bad roads in Akwamu area which has badly affected the people in the communities.

Before taking on the road projects, Dr. Nana Ayew Afriyie had earlier initiated self-funded KVIP projects in Akuakrom, Senkyi, Attakrom and repaired boreholes in Seniagya and Asukoko, all in his constituency.

He told Peacfmonline.com that, “my focus is to see to it that all the 44 towns in my constituency will have access to public toilets in the next decade, Schools with adequate infrastructural development and also set up a fund for needy but brilliant students, as well as to ensure good health for all.”
