Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa MP calls for unity

Breman Asikuma, April 12, GNA- The Member of Parliament for Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa, Mr P.C. Appiah-Ofori, has said last Saturday's election of new constituency executives was a victory for NPP in the upcoming general election.

He said there is the need for unity and co-operation among party members to win more supporters as the NPP prepares for another victory in December 2004.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) due to mal-administration of the old executive, the constituency is facing serious financial problems.

Mr Appiah-Ofori said time for selection of candidates for primaries has not yet come, but some old constituency executives were introducing certain people to the polling station chairmen for consideration.

He stressed that the old executives had been voted out of office and party members would join the new officers to do a lot of campaign and public relation to restore the good image of the party in the constituency.

Mr Appiah- Ofori called for mutual understanding and co-operation among the old and new executives and party members to enable them to win the presidential and parliamentary elections in December.
