Ashform gives to SOS Children's Villages, Ghana

Accra April 6, GNA - The Ashanti Foam Factory Limited on Tuesday presented assorted mattresses worth 16,000 Ghana cedis to two SOS Children's Villages at a ceremony in Accra. They are the Kumasi and Tamale branches of the SOS Children's Villages Ghana.

The two newly established branches are expected to be inaugurated on May 13 and 15, 2010 respectively.

Presenting the mattresses, Mr. William Forson, who is in charge of Finance and Administration of the company popularly called, Ash Foam, said the company was concerned about the welfare of the children at the SOS Children's Villages Ghana.

Mr. Forson said Ash Foam, which was established in 1973, had over the years been assisting the SOS Children Villages Ghana as part of its corporate social responsibility. He pledged the company's continued support for the SOS Children's Villages. Mr. Kojo Mattah, National Director, SOS Children's Villages Ghana, was grateful to the company for the gesture noting that it had supported the institution for the past five years.

He was optimistic that his organisation would continue to build a good relationship with the company.

SOS Children's Villages, Ghana, is a charitable organisation which takes care of children who are orphaned, destitute and abandoned. Since its inception in 1974, SOS has taken care of hundreds of children and provided them with educational opportunities and good health care before they were integrated into the society. Currently, SOS Children's Villages has four branches in Ghana namely Tema, Asiakwa, Kumasi and Tamale.
