On Saturday, the Deputy Chief of Staff, Francis Asenso-Boakye had the pleasure of making a modest donation of reading books and computers to six primary schools in the Bantama Constituency, where he was born and lived for many years.

In line with President Akufo-Addo’s decision to make education one of his priorities, Mr Asenso-Boakye realised the need to donate the educational materials to enhance education in the locality.

“Education is our most secured investment and best bet out of poverty. We must as a people harness the value and power of education to inform and transform our society.

“We owe it a duty to inculcate the habit of reading into our children and the youth if we must spawn generational thinkers and leaders,” he said.

The deputy chief of staff was accompanied by the MP for Bantama, Hon Daniel Aboagye and the Mayor of Kumasi, Osei Assibey Antwi and a host of others.

He added: “It was deeply gratifying to be able to interact with well-meaning people from the constituency, who are equally keen to support the efforts of government, to transform Ghana into a prosperous country for all, irrespective of gender, tribe, ethnicity or political affiliation”.
