Asantehene urged to resolve Aburaso chieftaincy dispute

Oheneba Yaw Boateng, Assemblyman for Aburaso/Kromoase in the Bosomtwe-Atwima-Kwanwoma District of Ashanti, has appealed to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, to help resolve the chieftaincy dispute at Aburaso to enhance development of the area.

He said the protracted chieftaincy dispute had created divisions in the community making it difficult to organise the people to implement development projects.

Speaking to the press at Aburaso near Kumasi, Oheneba Boateng said there was tension in the town following the rejection of Nana Kwabena Nimo Kwakurakwa, the ex-chief, who now claims to be the Abusuapanin of the royal stool of Aburaso.

He said attempts to bring the people together for communal labour had proved futile.
