Asantehene inaugurates library and computer laboratory

Akropong (Ash), June 29, GNA - Otumfuo Osei Tutu 11, the Asantehene, at the weekend inaugurated a 90 million-cedi library and computer laboratory for the Osei Tutu Secondary School at Akropong in the Atwima Nwabigya District.

Mr. Anthony Kofi Gyamfi, Executive Director of Topman Farms and an old student of the school, financed the facilities. Otumfuo Osei Tutu expressed gratitude to Mr Gyamfi for his contribution to the development of the school and expressed the hope that he would continue to assist his alma mater.

The Asantehene expressed concern about the extravagant life style of some students in second cycle institutions and said the situation tended to goad the students to indulge in deviant behaviour. He urged heads of institutions and their staff to join hands to weed out such students from their schools so as to instil sanity in the school to facilitate excellent academic standards and high morality. Mr Gyamfi said apart from being an old student of the school, most of his businesses are located in the area and therefore felt the need to contribute to the development of the school.

He advised old students of the school both at home and abroad to contribute in their small way towards uplifting the image of the school.
