Asamama Presby church receives gifts

Asamama (E/R), Nov 21, GNA - Two Akim-Asamama citizens, one based in Britain and the other in Koforidua, have donated items to the Akim Asamama Presbytarian Church in the East Akim District.

Mr Asare Asumang, a British-based lawyer, donated 20 gowns to the singing band, 10 communion bowls and six ceiling fans.

Mr Asumang said he was moved by the activities of the church, especially, the renovation of the church building, to make the donation.

Mr Kwame Adjei, a Koforidua businessman, also presented three ceiling fans, six florescent tubes and 100,000 cedis to the Church.

A Senior Presbyter, Mr Thomas Anane who received the items, thanked the donors for their kind gesture.

Dr Kwaku Boateng, a leading member of the Church, who chaired the ceremony, appealed to the Church members to worship God in faith, truth and in spirit.

The Project Officer of the Church, Mr Frimpong Nkansah, said the Church has acquired land to cultivate oil palm, citrus and vegetables.
