The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ellembelle Constituency in the Western Region, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, has pledged his full commitment to work with the Ministry of Roads to address the poor road network in his constituency.
He gave this assurance during visits to Asasetre, Nvuma, Tandan, Ebi, Ayawora, Adubrim, and Mpeasem on Saturday, August 30, 2025.
The road networks leading to these business and farming communities are in a deplorable state.
Acting minister calls for revocation of LI 2462
It will be recalled that in 2020, former President Akufo-Addo performed a sod-cutting ceremony at Teleku Bokazo to commence the construction of the Asasetre–Aiyinasi road, but not a single kilometre was completed.
The poor road network continues to claim lives in the constituency, making its rehabilitation an urgent priority.
Armah-Kofi Buah, who also serves as the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, thanked the chiefs and people of these communities for voting for him and President John Dramani Mahama in the 2024 elections.
He urged them to remain united as one people and promised to be accountable to his constituents while working to bring more developmental projects to the area.
The Minister assured residents that he would do everything possible to ensure the completion of the abandoned Teleku Bokazo–Simpa Junction road project.
He also advised residents to desist from illegal mining (galamsey) and called on them to support the government’s Cooperative Mining initiative.
“We are bringing Responsible Cooperative Mining and Skill Development Programs, and I urge you to embrace them and stay away from illegal mining. Galamsey is destroying our forests and water bodies, so let us stop it and use the right methods of mining,” he stated.
He further assured the people that the government would not relent in its fight against illegal mining across the country.
The chiefs and people commended Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah for visiting to learn about their concerns and welfare.
They also expressed their gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for appointing Armah-Kofi Buah as Minister for Lands and Natural Resources and pledged their support for him to succeed.
Additionally, they extended heartfelt condolences to the families affected by the August 8 helicopter disaster.
The Ellembelle MP is expected to extend his “Thank You Tour” to other communities in the constituency.
He was accompanied by the Ellembelle NDC Constituency Executives.
