Amanano Rural Bank staff commended

Nyinahin (Ash), July 6, GNA - The entire staff of the Amanano Rural Bank have been commended for their hard work, dedication and honesty, which had helped to position the bank as eligible for reactivation by the Bank of Ghana.

Mr Yahaya Yakubu, Supervising Manager of the Bank who made the commendation said the committed, skilled and knowledgeable staff rendered quality services resulting in the achievement of the six key objective areas set by the Bank of Ghana for reactivation of rural banks.

The Supervising Manager who spoke to the GNA on Thursday at Nyinahin mentioned the key areas as capacity building, capital mobilization, deposit mobilization, good corporate image, income generation and profitability.

Mr Yakubu, however, urged the staff not to feel complacent but to work still harder to achieve more laurels in the banking arena adding, "Though such enviable successes have been achieved, there is still room for improvement".

He disclosed that in the past year nearly three billion cedis was given out as loans to transport owners and farmers to expand their businesses but expressed regret that some beneficiaries of the loans had defaulted in repayment.

Mr Yakubu called on all defaulters to redeem their indebtedness on time to avoid any court action. On the bank's objectives for the current year, he said it was still in the process of renovating the Mbrom Agency in Kumasi with banking equipment.
