An albino man caused a stir at the Manhyia Palace during Asantehemaa's funeral by deliberately performing on the 'Bodware', a platform considered sacred and usually off-limits.

The 'Bodware', painted entirely white, is a sacred platform where the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II sits during special purification rituals, according to insiders.

Tradition dictates that women are strictly forbidden from stepping onto it, as it is believed to incur the wrath of barrenness. Men are permitted to stand on it, but are expected to remove their footwear to maintain its sanctity.

Given the perceived dangers associated with the platform, approaching it requires utmost caution.

Therefore, it came as a shock when the albino fearlessly climbed onto the 'Bodware' to perform a series of actions. He ascended the platform barefoot, initially raising his head and a hand towards the sky. He then balanced on one leg for several minutes before sitting down, crossing his legs in a manner reminiscent of an acrobat.

His actions drew a large crowd, with onlookers expressing astonishment and concern.

Some feared for his well-being, while others suggested he would not suffer consequences for his actions.

One man, speaking on condition of anonymity, explained that the albino's actions were not necessarily a transgression.

He told this reporter: "You see, this 'Bodware' platform is used to perform cleansing rituals, and albinos used to play roles in those things. So, for them, they don't default. But the fact remains that this 'Bodware' must always remain sacred and respected without sinning against it."

Other bystanders debated the man's safety, with many arguing that he was risking his life by performing such acts on the sacred platform.
