Alavanyo and Nkonya Township curfew renewed

The Ministry of the Interior, has on the advice of the Volta Regional Security Council and by the Executive Instrument reviewed the curfew hours imposed on Alavanyo and Nkonya Township from 11:00pm to 5:00am.

A statement issued in Accra by Mr Prosper Bani, Minister of the Interior and copied to the Ghana News Agency said the extension took effect from Friday, May 20, 2016.

It urged chiefs, opinion leaders, the youth in the area to exercise restraint in the face of the challenges confronting them and use the established mechanisms for the resolution of all their conflicts and disputes.

It reiterated that, there is a ban on all persons in the two towns and their environs from carrying arms, ammunition or any offensive weapon, and that any person found with these weapons would be arrested and prosecuted.
