Akyem Achiase endowment fund committee assist students

Akyem Achease (E/R), Sept 07, GNA - Two students from Akyem Achiase in the Birim South District who have gained admission to the universities were presented with cheques for one million cedis each by the Akyem Achiase Education Endowment Fund Committee on Tuesday. The students were Master Kwaku Amakye and Master Dominic Agyei who have gained admission to the University of Ghana, Legon and the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), respectively.

Presenting the cheques Mr Paul Asiedu, the Chairman of the Committee, advised the recipients to guard against negative acts that would tend to undermine their studies.

He said they should come home when on holidays and assist their less fortunate friends in their studies.

The Chief of Akyem Achiase, Osabarima Gyenin Kenten II, who received the cheques on behalf of the students, commended the committee and pledged to channel some percentage of stool lands revenue into the fund.

Mr Robert K. Amoah, an Assembly member, called on the students to justify the awards by studying hard.
