Akuapem Association calls on Ghanaians to ensure peaceful elections

The Chairman of the Akuapem Association in the Northern region, Opanin E. B. Gyan Ansah has called on well-meaning Ghanaians especially citizens of Akwapem to ensure peace before, during and after the 2016 general elections.

According to Opanin Gyan Ansah, peace and security are essential prerequisite for national development.

He stated that conflicts and strives threatens good governance and nation building as well as the wanton destruction of lives and property and call for the need all citizens to join hands to ensure absolute peace in the country.

Speaking at the 56th anniversary of Akuapeman in the Northern region over the weekend Opanin E. B. Gyan Ansah enjoins Ghanaians to enhance transformation at both community and individual level by given essential value to peace and security.

He also appealed to the youth to devoid all manner of acts that will mare the current peace of the country.

The 56th anniversary of Akuapem Association which was under the theme; "Akuapemfo contribution to the development of the North, 56 year and beyond" witness the enstoolment of a new chief for the Akuapem clan in the Northern region.

The anniversary also highlighted the rich cultural and historical heritage of the people of Akuapem.

The newly enstooled Akuapem chief, Nana Yaw Bajan in a speech commended the Akuapem people the honour done him and promised to discharged his duties with allegiance customs and tradition of the people of Akuapem.

Nana Yaw Bajan also advised Ghanaians to co-exist, live in harmony and pool their resources to ensure uninterrupted development.
