Akrofuom Communal labour defaulters to be prosecuted

Akrofuom (Ash), March 9, GNA- The people of Akrofuom in the Adansi West District have instituted special levies to generate funds to promote self-help development projects in the community.

Each male resident is to contribute 20,000 cedis while females are to pay 10,000 cedis. Non-resident citizens, males are to pay 80,000 cedis with female counterparts contributing 40,000 cedis.

At a community meeting at Akrofuom organised by the Community Projects Committee on Sunday, the people endorsed the decision that communal labour defaulters would be prosecuted.

Addressing the meeting, Mr Maurice Jonas Woode, one of the three assembly members in the town announced that last year the committee spent over 33 million cedis to undertake a number of development projects.

Mr Woode said the district assembly had provided building materials worth 20 million cedis towards a market in the town.
