Akim Oda hospital workers honoured

The Principal Medical Officer of the Akim Oda Government Hospital, Dr Emmanuel Tetteh-Ashong, has assured the staff of the hospital of management's desire to hold in-service training for them to enhance their professional competence.

In addition, he said, the hospital would ensure that its workers are well motivated to boost their moral to strive for excellence.

Dr Ashong said this at an end-of-year party organised for the staff of the hospital at Akim Oda on Monday. Forty-two workers were awarded for meritorious service.

They took away items including standing fans, gas cylinders and pressing irons.

Dr Ashong said though last year was a bit difficult for the hospital, it made a modest achievement and that its revenue generation had improved.

The award winners included the Matron, Mrs Suzzy Owusu-Ansah, who had the long-service award, Miss Esi Baiden, over-all best worker, Miss Grace Mensah, best Orderly and Mr Kwabena Akomaning, best driver.
