Ahmaddiyya Mission donates to school

Gomoa-Potsin (C/R), Feb. 24, GNA - The Head of the World-wide Ahmaddiyya Mission Hazrat Mirza Masroor has donated five computers and two printers valued at about 20 million cedis towards the computerisation programme being implemented by the management of the Gomoa-Potsin Ahmaddiyya Secondary School.

Mr. Mohammed Ackonu, Headmaster of the school announced this when the head of the school's home science department, Miss Josephine Brown and other teachers of the institution met Mr. Ackonu to discuss matters affecting the on-going new home science block, at Potsin on Tuesday. The Headmaster said authorities of the school were satisfied with the gifts, saying that it has come at the right time because it would help accelerate plans to offer the children a holistic training. He expressed the school's appreciation to Hazrat Mirza Masroor for the kind gesture and assured that the equipment would be put to good use.

Mr. Ackonu appealed to organisations and individuals who have the means to offer more material and cash contributions towards the implementation of the various development projects being executed by the school.

Miss Brown advised students of the school to take advantage of the equipment to learn to become computer literate to enable them to fit into the society properly after their schooling programme. She stressed the need for every school going child to take his or her studies more serious to guarantee the acquisition for a better life in future.

Miss Brown expressed the hope that government would allocate more funds to the school to ensure the speedy completion of the 800 million-cedi project, so that it could be commissioned before the commencement of the next academic year. Other members of staff, who participated in the discussions were Mr. Godfrey Odoom, Mr. Frempong Arkoh, Mr. Rockson Agunubu, Mr. Hakeem Adjei, and Mr. Uthman Latopa.
