The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Ahafo Ano South West Constituency, Hon. Elvis Osei Mensah Dapaah, has distributed thousands of English and Twi textbooks to pupils and students across the constituency to improve teaching and learning outcomes.

A total of 12,406 textbooks were supplied to both primary and junior high schools. The distribution includes 1,731 English reading books for Basic one(1), 3,675 English reading books for Basic two (2) and three (3), totaling 5,406 copies for the lower primary level. Furthermore, 2,000 Twi reading books were provided for the lower primary, and an additional 2,000 English language books were supplied to junior high schools.

To address growing demand, 3,000 English language books were also distributed to upper primary schools.

This intervention comes as schools in the constituency report an enrollment of 10,794 pupils at the primary level and 7,843 students at the JHS level.

During the distribution exercise, Hon. Dapaah stated that this gesture is part of his commitment to promote quality education and ensure that no child in the constituency is left behind due to a lack of learning materials.

He emphasized that literacy is the foundation for academic success, adding that the distribution of textbooks will alleviate the burden on parents and teachers while fostering a stronger reading culture among pupils.

Teachers and education stakeholders in the constituency have expressed their gratitude to the MP for this timely intervention, hailing it as a significant boost to education in the area.
