Agona West Assembly embarks on waste collection

The Agona West Municipal Assembly will start a door-to-door waste collection programme from January 2015 to ensure good environmental sanitation in the Municipality.

Mr George Freeman, the Agona West Municipal Environment Health Chief, said this when he briefed the media on sanitation strategies adopted by the Assembly for 2015 at Agona Swedru.

He said for the Assembly to achieve the success, over 200 plastic bins have been procured by the assembly at the cost of 42,000 Ghana cedis.

Mr Freeman said land lords and landladies who would join the programme would pay some token amount to the Assembly.

He said the Environmental Health and Sanitation Department of the Assembly has intensified its daily exercise known as “Asaman Asaman” in the Municipality to enhance some environment cleanliness.
