Agona Duakwa installs queenmother

Agona Duakwa, Oct 6, GNA - Nana Kojo Amoakwa V, Chief of Agona Duakwa, has appealed to sub-chiefs and other opinion leaders to bring their rich experience, knowledge, and expertise to bear on the administration of their communities.

This, he said, would help accelerate development in those communities, thus improving the living standards of the inhabitants. Nana Amoakwa said this at the installation of a queenmother for the town.

She is Nana Efuah Amowiwa V, who succeeds her grandmother Nana Efuah Amowiwa V, who died three years ago.

Known in private life as Mrs Elizabeth Amusah, the 45-year-old queenmother is a secretary at the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission. Nana Amoakwa advised the new queenmother to mobilize women in the area to undertake income-generating ventures.

He expressed concern about the behaviour of the youth in the town and urged parents to ensure the proper upbringing of their children. Nana Amoakwa reminded the youth that the Duakwa Traditional Council would sanction school children found to be loitering at night.

Nana Amowiwa pledged to unite the people for development and called for support from the inhabitants.
