Adopt pro-active policing to prevent crime – Commander

The Agona Swedru Divisional Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Issah Ahmed Yakubu, has exhorted Inspectors and Chief Inspectors in the division to adopt pro-active policing to prevent crimes at their various stations.

According to the Commander, the Inspectors and their Chief Inspectors serve as the hub of the Police Service since they see to the implementation of Police Policies at the local level.

Chief Superintendent Yakubu was addressing about 200 Inspectors and Chief Inspectors from the Division at a capacity-building conference at Agona Swedru. The Division covers Apam, Winneba and Kasoa.

The Divisional Commander told the participants who are mostly Station Masters and Deputies, to also adopt co-active policing. He warned against indiscipline, and said any police personnel who showed indiscipline behaviour would be sanctioned.

The Division Commander urged the Officers to work closely with the public. He appealed to Officers of the Division to show a high sense of direction, and to also co-operate with their subordinates, urging them to do their best to win a good name for the Police Service.

Chief Superintendent Yakubu assured residents within the Division that the Police will intensify their patrols to reduce armed robbery cases and other crimes.

Superintendent Alex Buabeng, Agona Swedru Divisional Crime Officer, ASP Samuel Amfo, Visibility Commander and DSP Paul Wesley Baah, Agona Swedru District Police Commander, were among officers at the Conference.
