Adansi South builds teachers' accommodation

The Adansi South Assembly has built a teachers’ bungalow for the Akrofuom Senior High Technical School to ease the severe accommodation problem of the school.

Mr. Benjamin Anhwere, the District Chief Executive (DCE), said it would continue to invest substantial percentage of its resources in education.

Over, the past six years, it had completed more than 50 school projects – classroom blocks, teachers’ accommodation, and water and sanitation facilities.

He announced that the district alongside the Adansi North and the Obuasi Municipality have been selected to benefit from the government’s community-based senior high school project.

This, he noted, would significantly help to give the youth in these areas access to quality education.

Mrs. Karina Benewoe, the District Education Director, hailed the assembly for making education, a top priority on its development agenda.

She said the bungalow would help to address a major challenge of the school and expressed worry about the situation, where teachers daily travelled long distances to teach.

Mr. Ernest Sarfo Barden, the Assistant Headmaster (Administration), said accommodating the teachers on the school’s campus would strengthen supervision and discipline.
