Adansi South assembly to organise vacation classes

Adansi-Apagya (Ash), Dec. 8, GNA - The Adansi South District Assembly is to organise vacation classes for senior secondary school students in the district free of charge from early next year. Mr Francis Dorpenyoh, District Chief Executive, who made this known, said the programme was aimed at improving upon the performance of the students and serve as quality time for them during the vacation period.

Speaking during a visit to Adansi-Apagya, he said the Assembly would provide teachers and other teaching and learning materials that would be used for the programme.

Mr Dorpenyoh said the classes would be organised at New Edubiase and Akrofuom Secondary and Technical Schools. The DCE said he was not happy with the performance of students in the District and said the time had come for the Assembly to help in solving the problem.

He denied rumours circulating in the District that the Government had ordered cocoa buying companies in the District to stop buying cocoa beans, adding that the government had released enough funds for cocoa purchased.

Nana Akore Ababio, Chief of Adansi-Apagya, appealed to the DCE to help the town with teachers' quarters, a market and also to help about 400 people, who did not have electricity meters.
