Acquinas begin 60th anniversary celebrations

The 60th anniversary celebrations of the St. Thomas Acquinas Senior High School based in Cantonments in Accra has begun under the auspices of the Metropolitan Archbishop of Accra, Board of Governors of the school, PTA, Executives of Old Toms, headmaster, staff and students.

Under the theme; ‘60 years of Catholic Education towards National Development: the Day School Experience,’ the celebrations began last Friday February 17 and ends coming Sunday February 26, 2012.

*Anniversary fun games involving Acquinas against OLAM, St. Margaret Mary and Social Advance SHS commenced the programme of activities last Friday. *

*The successful games were followed on Saturday by the anniversary fun walk from the school premises through Oxford Street – 5 Junction, Osu – Aquinas Old Site, Osu – VET – Labone Junction – back to the school.*

*The real climax of activities marking the school’s 60th anniversary begins this coming Thursday February 23, 2012 with an inter-house debate and theatre show at 12 noon.*

*The celebrations continue with the commissioning of a sports complex and arts shop for the school on Friday at 2pm.*

*Saturday February 25, 2012 is the main anniversary day and will witness an exhibition, Police Cadet parade and the 60th anniversary Speech and Prize Giving day.*

*The St. Thomas Acquinas Senior High School 60th anniversary celebrations climaxes on Sunday with a thanksgiving mass and continuation of presentation of awards and certificates at 9.00AM.*
