Achiasehene donates building plot to best teacher

Mim (Ash), April 6, GNA - Nana Badu Boakye-Danquah II, Achiasehene, has officially handed over a site plan of a land estimated at more than ten million cedis to Miss Ophelia Okani Wiredu, Atwima district 2003 over-all best teacher.

It was in fulfilment of a promise he made at the district's annual teachers' awards ceremony at Nkawie on Independence Day. Making the presentation at Atwima-Mim on Monday, Nana Boakye-Danquah announced that with effect from the next academic year, he would pay the fees of all the pupils of the Mim Basic School, which he estimated at over 8.5 million cedis, per annum.

He reiterated his determination to contribute meaningfully towards the promotion of education in the district and called on parents and guardians to send their children to school.

Mr Baffour Asare-Bediako, an Assistant Director of Education, expressed appreciation to Nana Boakye-Danquah for his immense support to the improvement of education in the district.

He said the district education directorate has intensified its monitoring and supervisory role in order to improve studies in the area and advised the teachers to work very hard to produce good academic results.
