Achiase Salvation Army School inaugurates sanitation facility

Akim Achiase (E/R), Jan. 16, GNA- The local manager of the Achiase District Salvation Army schools, Captain Samuel Kyeremeh has called on parents to take keen interest in their children's education. He said since children were with their parents most part of the day, proper supervision at home should complement the effort of teachers.

Capt. Kyeremeh who was inaugurating a 20-million cedis sanitation facility provided by the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) of the Achiase Salvation Primary and JSS school (PTA) on Friday, said education of children should be the combined effort of parents, teachers and the community.

He urged teachers to exhibit good morals that would inspire the children to grow up to become responsible adults. Headmaster of the school, Mr Andrews Mawuli, said time had come when government alone could not provide everything for children's education.

Mr Mawuli suggested that where it became necessary, parents should purchase relevant textbooks for their wards so that they could study at home.

The PTA chairman, Mr. Marshall Amakye announced that the facility was provided through voluntary contributions and communal labour and appealed to the beneficiaries to maintain it well to prolong its lifespan.
