Accident at Yareyeya claims one life

Yareyeya (W/R) May 15 -GNA- One person died on the spot when an articulated truck loaded with gallons of paints and travelling from Cote de' Ivoire to Burkina Faso was involved in an accident at Yareyeya near Bogoso in the Wassa West district on Monday. The truck with registration number 11 j. j. 4302 skidded off the road and run into a ditch.

A "good Samaritan" rushed Mahamadu Sabadugu, driver of the truck and his mate Taio Abudulai who received various degrees of injuries to the Bogoso clinic.

Abudulai told the Ghana News Agency at the scene of the accident that he and his master decided to give "lift" to the deceased man who was stranded at the Elubo border. The deceased who could not be identified immediately was said to be travelling to Niger.

As at 1400 hours when the GNA got to the spot, the body of the deceased was still trapped under the articulated truck while efforts were being made to inform the police at Tarkwa and Bogoso.
