As part of the Easter celebrations, Abusua Nkosuo Club donated bags of clothing, various foodstuffs, toiletries and 20 liter water jerry cans to the Compassion Rehab Center at Dawhenya in the Ningo Prampram District.

It was the club’s second social responsibility activity to improve and harmonize the wellbeing of the society and the Rehab Center in particular.

Tesa Ayernor, the Chairman of the Club indicted that the club had decided to annualize the gesture.

He encouraged inmates to recognize members of the Club as brothers and part of the Abusua family.

Some of the inmates shared their experiences about drug addiction and substance abuse including one police officer and an 18-year old boy.

The items were received by Pastor Robert Fennie the Manager and resident Pastor of the Rehab Center.

Compassion In Action (CIA) is the missions arm of Action Chapel International with the goal of helping as many hurting people as possible, to alleviate human suffering, and to help Christians grow in their faith.

The Center works primarily to help rescue men in Ghana from alcohol and drug addiction. They offer love, housing, schooling, job skill training, drug recovery process skills known as the 12 Step Facilitation Therapy Program.

Many of the inmates also receive Biblical counseling to help rebuild and restore their lives.

In November last year, Abusua Nkosuo Club donated dust bins to the Haatso-Papao Community after a four-hour clean-up exercise on the National Sanitation Day Clean-up.

To promote the rapid growth of the club, several committees have been set-up to champion the execution of the Club’s aims and objectives.

These include the Constitutional Review Committee, Finance Committee, the Welfare Committee, Events and Planning Committee, Sports and Health Committee, Ethics Committee and the Investment and Acquisition Committee currently pursuing an audacious project to secure properties for members of the club.

Located in Haatso at the Ga East Municipal District, the Club is made of professionals, businessmen and the intelligentsia with the aim to promote the total welfare of members, promote business and networking within and outside the membership and most importantly extend a helping hand to the community and the under privileged in society.

Abusua Nkosuo Club is open to any prospective male who demonstrates a true spirit of association and the need to mutually support one another to build a strong and humane community.
