Abuakwa new site residents appeal to ECG

Abuakwa (Ash), Oct. 14, GNA- Residents of Abuakwa New Site in the Atwima District of Ashanti have appealed to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) to install a bigger transformer to bolster power supply in the area.

Mr James Boateng, a spokesman for the residents told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the low voltage of the transformer was a source of great worry to them.

He said a lot of their electrical appliances had either been damaged or completely destroyed as a result of frequent power outages as a result of the inability of the transformer to absorb power demands of the residents.

Mr Boateng noted that the situation had been compounded by the rapid development of the area arising out of the completion of many houses and which were being occupied.
