AMA mayor hands over renovated palace to ga traditional council

The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) has finally handed over a renovated Ga Mantse Palace to the Ga Traditional Council with a call for the edifice to be used in promoting the administering of chieftaincy issues in the state.
Recently it would be recalled

that, the AMA Mayor had been bashed for neglecting the Ga Traditional Council and for that matter had done little to support its activities.
But, the Assembly through the leadership of Dr Alfred Okoe Vanderpuije took it upon itself to renovate the Ga Mantse Palace among other developmental; projects the Assembly has undertaken.

The Assembly therefore spent GHC 350,000.0 in ensuring that the Palace is face lifted to befit a state of the art palace.
The Mayor called on the Chiefs and members of the Council to ensure peace prevails in their jurisdictions so as to meet the many developmental agenda the government and for that matter the Ga state is pursuing.
He also indicated that the Assembly is in the process of reconstructing the Salaga Market in Accra to pave way for brisk business and also pledged his and the Assembly’s commitment in dredging the Korle Lagoon as part of the AMA’s five-year developmental plan.
Dr. Vanderpuye noted that Accra will be developed and efforts are underway in ensuring that the city is made a city within cities.
He also took the opportunity to thank the chiefs for supporting the Assembly in its developmental agenda, and further expressed the hope that the support would be extended to his newly endorsed administration.
