AESDA urge to block loopholes in revenue generation

Winneba, April 09, GNA - Mr Samuel Owusu-Agyei, a Deputy Minister of Health and MP for Effutu, has called on the Awutu-Effutu-Senya District Assembly to intensity its revenue mobilization activities to generate enough funds for development. He also stressed the need for the assembly to block all the loopholes that impeded revenue collection.

Mr Owusu-Agyei said this when he addressed the assembly at an emergency meeting at Winneba on Friday at which the assembly approved of its 2005 budget of 8.8 billion cedis.

Mr Owusu-Agyei said if the assembly adopted effective measures to check abuse in the revenue collection machinery, it would meet its projected revenue target for the year.

Mr. Oppey Abbey, MP for Awutu-Senya appealed to the assembly to rehabilitate the Bawjiase Market as well as roads leading to various towns and villages in the constituency.
