AEE district Assembly stocked library with books, computers and TV

Ajumako (C/R) Feb. 19 GNA -The Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam (AEE) District Assembly has stocked the district Library with modern books and computers at a cost millions of cedis as part of its efforts to promote education in the area.

The District Chief Executive for the Area, Mr. Kenneth Obimpong disclosed this at the Rally round the Flag ceremony which forms part of Ghana's fiftieth Anniversary celebration at Ajumako. He said a television set has also been provided in the Library and urged the school children to visit the library and also take advantage of the Television and asses the President Special Distance Learning Programme for school children.

He said those who fought for Independence for the Nation took their education serious before becoming prominent citizens and therefore urged the pupil to take their education seriously to enable them become useful future leaders. The DCE enumerated a number of activities lined-up for the district during the celebration, which include health walk, candle light procession and special thanks giving service.

The district Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Emmanuel Appiah appealed to Ghanaians to help maintain the peaceful atmosphere prevailing in the country to enhance rapid development. He paid a glowing tribute to the founding father of the nation whose sweat and toil we are celebrating. About 400 flag-bearing pupils from schools in the area took part in the occasion.
