The lifeless body of a five-year-old girl has been found at Adom, a suburb of Atebubu in the Bono East Region, three days after she went missing.
According to an adomonline.com report on September 18, 2025, the deceased, identified as Makimor Yagyeger, was discovered floating in stagnant water.
Eyewitnesses who first saw the body immediately alerted the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), which carried out a recovery operation.

“Eyewitnesses who first spotted the body quickly called the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), which carried out a recovery operation to retrieve her remains,” the report said.
Atebubu GNFS Station Officer 1, Kabori Sakari, confirmed the incident and urged residents to remain cautious, particularly around water bodies during the rainy season.
The tragic news has left the community in shock, the report added. Some residents suspect foul play and are calling for a thorough investigation to unravel the circumstances surrounding the child’s death.

The remains have since been handed over to the police for further investigation and autopsy.
